About
Protecting personal data is at the core of PII Guard.
Founded in 2018 by Martin Staal Boesgaard (M.Sc.), an expert in cryptography and information security, PII Guard was created to solve a practical problem many organizations face: production data is realistic and valuable, but difficult and risky to use outside production.
Driven by the need for realistic data for purposes such as testing, analytics, and AI, Boesgaard began developing privacy-enhancing solutions that protect Personally Identifiable Information (PII) – such as names, emails, phone numbers, and IDs – while keeping data fully usable. Built on advanced cryptography, including Type-Preserving Encryption (TPE), the technology ensures that structure, logic, and relationships remain intact. Three patents have been issued on PII Guard's core technologies.
Since then, PII Guard has grown into a robust company working with prominent customers and partners. Our products enable organizations to use sensitive data safely across teams and use cases – without exposing personal information or breaking systems.
